Privacy Policy

We collect information in three ways:

• Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider, Clerk, collects your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• Billing information. If you purchase a plan or subscription, our payment processor, Stripe, collects your payment card details directly. We never see or store full card numbers on our servers — we retain only the subscription/order status and amounts needed for your account history.
• Usage information. We use Plausible, a cookie-free analytics tool, to understand aggregate traffic to our marketing pages (e.g. page views, referrers). It does not use cookies or track you individually across sites.
• Referral source. If you arrive from a link or advertisement that carries campaign parameters (such as utm_source or an ad click identifier), your browser remembers the first one locally. When you create an account we save it on your account record, so we can tell which campaigns lead to sign-ups. It is used only for our own measurement, is not shared with advertising networks, and the click identifier is deleted if you delete your account.

Separately, CarrieSeek’s core product lets signed-in users search and export carrier business records (company name, DOT number, business phone, business address) sourced from FMCSA’s public datasets. That carrier data is public business information, not information we collect about you, and is not covered by this section.

When you choose “Sign in with Google,” we request the following non-sensitive OAuth scopes:

• openid — to verify your identity.
• .../auth/userinfo.email — your Google account email address.
• .../auth/userinfo.profile — your name and profile picture.

We do not request, and do not access, your Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar, YouTube, or any other Google product data. We only use your Google account information to:

• Create and authenticate your CarrieSeek account.
• Pre-fill your name and email on your account profile.
• Communicate with you about your account, billing, and the service.

Specifically, CarrieSeek will never:

• Sell, rent, or transfer your Google user data to third parties for advertising or marketing.
• Use your Google user data to serve ads, including retargeting or interest-based advertising.
• Allow employees, contractors, or third parties to read your Google user data, except (a) with your explicit consent, (b) for security purposes such as investigating abuse, (c) to comply with applicable law, or (d) to provide features you’ve requested (e.g. support).
• Use your Google user data to train or improve generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
• Use your Google user data for determining credit-worthiness or for lending purposes.

We retain Google user data for as long as your CarrieSeek account is active. You can revoke CarrieSeek’s access to your Google account data at any time from your Google Account permissions page, and you can request deletion of any Google user data we hold by emailing admin@carrieseek.com (see “Data retention and deletion” below).

CarrieSeek’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

• To create, authenticate, and secure your account.
• To process payments, subscriptions, and order/allotment history.
• To provide, maintain, and improve the CarrieSeek product.
• To send account, billing, and service-related communications.
• To understand aggregate site usage and improve our marketing pages.
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

We share information only with the service providers who help us run CarrieSeek, namely:

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Plausible — cookie-free, aggregate website analytics.
• Our hosting infrastructure provider — to run our servers and database.

Each of these providers is only permitted to use your information to perform services on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CarrieSeek, our users, or others.

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your account and authentication records, cancel any active subscription, and stop retaining new billing or usage data associated with you, subject to what our payment processor and applicable law require us to keep for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention purposes.

To request deletion of your account and associated personal information, email admin@carrieseek.com or use the account deletion option in your account settings.

Regardless of where you’re located, you can:

• Access or correct your account information at any time from your account settings.
• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your account and personal information (see “Data retention and deletion” above).
• Revoke Google access at any time from your Google Account permissions page, independent of your CarrieSeek account.
• Opt out of non-essential account emails using the unsubscribe link included in them.

To exercise any of these rights, email admin@carrieseek.com. If you are located in the EEA, UK, or a US state with its own privacy law (e.g. California’s CCPA/CPRA), these rights are available to you under that law as well, and we will respond to verified requests within the time required by applicable law.

We use only the session cookies necessary to keep you signed in (set by Clerk). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics provider, Plausible, does not use cookies. To remember the campaign that brought you to us until you sign up, we store a small first-party item in your browser’s local storage; it is cleared once your account is created and is never sent to third parties.

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

CarrieSeek is a business-to-business product intended for professional use and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
